Real projects, real challenges, real solutions. We've spent years shaping Toronto's skyline and pushing what's possible in sustainable design. Each project here tells a story - sometimes smooth, sometimes chaotic, but always worth it.
This one nearly broke us, honestly. The client wanted a six-story commercial building that'd get LEED Platinum but still look like it belonged in downtown Toronto. We spent months wrestling with the city's zoning quirks and figured out how to squeeze in a green roof system that actually works in our winters.
Working with a young family who wanted to ditch their energy bills without sacrificing style. We went all-in on passive solar design and added some geothermal magic underneath. The tricky part? Making sure it didn't look like a science experiment from the street. Neighbors actually stopped by asking for our number.
Urban planning at its messiest and most rewarding. We got tapped to reimagine a whole city block that'd been sitting empty for years. Had to balance density requirements, public space mandates, and somehow make it feel like a neighborhood instead of just another condo jungle.
Tech startup needed their space to not feel like a typical tech startup, if that makes sense. They wanted collaborative but not annoying, open but not loud. We gutted a 1920s building interior and kept the brick and beams everyone loves while sneaking in acoustic panels that actually work.
Client had money but zero interest in the usual luxury cliches. No gold faucets, no marble everything. They wanted something that felt collected over time, not bought in one shopping trip. We sourced reclaimed wood from Ontario barns and paired it with custom metalwork from local artists.

Took a dated 1970s strip mall and turned it into something people actually want to visit. Added a massive green roof that the whole neighborhood can see, fixed the brutal concrete facade with local timber screens, and somehow made the parking lot less depressing with permeable paving and actual trees.
See TransformationSix-unit townhome development that fits into a narrow lot everyone said was impossible. Stacked 'em smart, gave each unit private outdoor space, and made sure they don't feel like you're living in a shoebox.
Learn MoreVictorian home that needed serious help. Restored the original details everyone cares about while sneaking modern systems behind the walls. Heritage committee approved everything on first try, which never happens.
Learn MoreBuilt right on Lake Ontario with ridiculous views. The challenge was wind exposure and making sure the lake didn't wreck everything during storms. Steel frame, impact-resistant glass, and a design that works with the weather instead of fighting it.
Learn MoreThis project taught us a lot about listening. The neighborhood had strong opinions about what they needed, and we had to park our egos and actually hear them out. Built a multi-use space that works for everyone from kids' programs to senior activities, with materials sourced from within 500km.

We're always up for a challenge. Whether it's a tricky site, a tight budget, or a crazy idea that might just work - let's talk about it over coffee.
